How to Factory Reset a Yealink Phone
A factory reset clears a Yealink phone's configuration, log files and cached data, and resets the admin password back to default. It's a useful last resort for troubleshooting, or before moving a handset to a different desk or user.
Applies to: Yealink T33G, Yealink T54W, Yealink SIP-T85W, Yealink SIP-T87W
5 steps to get it done
Decide on a reset method
You can reset via the phone's on-screen menu, its web interface, or (on some models) a physical button combination.
Menu method
Go to Menu > Advanced (default password: admin) > Reset Config, then select Reset to Factory Settings.
Web interface method
Log in to the phone's web interface, go to Settings > Upgrade, click Reset to Factory, and confirm.
Physical button method (model-dependent)
On some models, holding the OK button until "Reset to factory settings?" appears will trigger a reset. On the SIP-T87W specifically, a long press of the Redial button for about 5 seconds does the same.
Wait for the reset to complete
The phone will restart — this can take a few minutes. Don't power it off during this process.
Tips:
- A factory reset removes all configuration, including line registration — the phone will need to be reprovisioned afterwards to work with your cloud phone system.
- If you're not sure whether a reset is the right fix, contact WiseCloud support first — most issues can be resolved without one.
