How to Set Up Your UniFi Dream Machine Pro

The Dream Machine Pro is set up through a browser-based wizard. Here's the process from unboxing to a working network.

Mount the UDM Pro (it's a 1U rack-mount unit), connect your internet (WAN) cable to the internet port, and power it on.

From a computer on the same network, open Chrome and go to https://setup.ui.com — this launches the on-screen Setup Wizard.

Sign in with an existing UI.com account or create a new one — this is used for authentication and managing your UniFi devices.

Follow the wizard to name your network and, if you're also deploying UniFi access points, set your WiFi network name and password.

Once setup completes, you can manage the UDM Pro through the UniFi Network mobile app (iOS/Android) or a web browser.

Tips:

Chrome is the recommended browser for setup — others may have limited functionality in the UniFi console.
The UDM Pro has 8 Gigabit RJ45 ports plus SFP+ — plan your switch and access point cabling before mounting it.
