5 steps to get it done
Connect power and WAN
Connect your internet (WAN) cable and power the gateway on using the included USB-C power supply.
Let the automatic setup begin
The Cloud Gateway Ultra automatically starts a setup process on first boot, including a bandwidth test to establish your expected internet speeds for monitoring WAN utilisation.
Name your console
When prompted, give your gateway a name to identify it in the UniFi app or web console.
Choose an account type
Sign in with a UI.com account (enables remote access, cloud backups and multi-factor authentication) or set up a local-only account if you prefer to manage it without cloud features.
Connect additional UniFi devices
Once the gateway is online, additional UniFi switches and access points on the same network can be adopted into the console.
Tips:
- A UI.com account makes remote management and cloud backup much easier — worth setting up unless you have a specific reason to stay fully local.
- WiseCloud can configure multi-WAN failover and security settings as part of installation, rather than leaving it on defaults.
